Hard to believe, I know, but it's true. I saw him talk about the new pad on an interview with Phoenix TV. He remarked that while the Party could occasionally shut down a TV show or two, they didn't dare to bother him personally, because he has a green card and would just up and run off to Los Angeles. pizi

That list was a total bust. Beijing Doll? Ha Jin's 'the Crazed' wasn't nearly his best, and Wang Shuo's new novel has received no kinds of praise amongst the literary friends that I hang with (haven't read it, apologies for precocious criticism).
Anyways, that list was about as 'real' as the 'photo' of the National Stadium.

And The Uninvited has a good story, but isn't very well written, I think...
