A good spot for new on the Fair while it's going on is Publishing Perspectives, which will continue to provide reports over the next few days; I'm not aware of any other English language press with local coverage…
Publishing Perspectives: News on the BIBF

It is apparently true that Publishing Perspective is "on the ground" at the Beijing Int'l Book Fair.
I have followed the coverage so far, and it might just as well have been written by Xinhua. To date, it consists of press releases about what this or that "key" talking head said, or advertorial for China's answer to the Kindle e-reader.
All of which reminds me of the criticisms of CNN et al, whose "international" reporters "parachute" into a combat zone, do a 3-minute blurb and move on.
If their correspondent doesn't speak Chinese, they should get 1-2 who do, and begin giving real coverage to one of the world's biggest publishing markets.
