Nathaniel Isaacson is an Assistant Professor of Modern Chinese Literature at North Carolina State University, where he teaches modern Chinese literature, popular culture, and cinema. His research interests include Chinese science fiction, intellectual history, and visual culture. Previously published translations in Renditions (译从) include Lu Xun's "Lessons From the History of Science” (科学史教篇)，Xu Nianci’s “New Tales of Mr. Braggadocio (新法罗先生谭),” and Han Song’s “The Passengers and the Creator (乘客与创造者).”
