BONNIE HUIE was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and educated in the US and Japan. Her writings and translations appear in Afterimage, Kyoto Journal, and The Brooklyn Rail. She wrote and starred in the film The Mountain of Signs. She is the recipient of a 2012 PEN Translation Fund Grant for her translation of Qiu Miaojin.
