Ye Fu 野夫
Ye Fu (Zheng Shiping), a Tujia author of poetry, essays, reportage, fiction, and plays, was born in Hubei in 1962. A graduate of Hubei University for Nationalities and Wuhan University, he worked as a teacher, county official, policeman, ran a publishing house, and is now a freelance writer. He was the recipient of the Prize for Contribution to Contemporary Chinese in 2009, and in 2010, the book Under the River won the Taipei International Book Expo’s non-fiction award. Recent essay collections include Earth Lament and Out of Place.
