Yao Feng 姚风
Yao Feng lives in Macau where he is a professor at the University of Macau and Deputy Chief of the Cultural Affairs Bureau. He has published a large corpus of poetry, translations, essays, and commentaries, which includes the poetry collections Writing on the Wings of the Wind, One Horizon – Two Views, A Noite Deita-se Comigo, Faraway Song, Selected Poems of Yao Feng, and In Brief; the translations Com Palavras Amo, Selecta de Poetas Portugueses Contemporâneos, Rebirth, Poemas de Sophia, Selected Portuguese and Chinese Poems from Macau, Anthologie of Eugénio de Andrade, and Selected Works of Ten Contemporary Chinese Poets. He has also produced an academic work in Portuguese, A Poesia Clássica Chinesa: Uma Leitura de Traduções Portuguesas. In 2004 he won the fourteenth annual Rougang Poetry Award, and in 2006 he received the Ordem Militar de Santiago de Espada medal from the Portuguese president. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of Chinese and Western Poetry.
