Todd Foley graduated from Oberlin College in 2006 with a degree in Classics and East Asian Studies. He holds an MA in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth and a PhD in East Asian Studies from NYU (2015). Todd Foley teaches courses on Chinese literature, film, and translation. His current research interests include ideas of translation and world literature, as well as conceptions of human and animal in modern Chinese writing. He has also taught courses at Connecticut College and Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou).
