Hu Shu-wen is from Taipei. She has worked as a reporter and news editor. She now spends her time writing. Hu graduated from the Foreign Languages Department at Taiwan University, and has won both the China Times Literature Prize and the Taiwan Literature Prize. Her works include the short story collection Woeful and Gay is Childhood, and the novel The Sun’s Blood is Black.
