[Bio provided by Peony Literary Agency] Chan Koon-Chung was born in Shanghai and raised and educated in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. Formerly a reporter for an English newspaper in Hong Kong, he started the monthly magazine City in 1976, where he was editor-in-chief for several years and publisher for 23 until the title was sold. He started screenwriting in 1981 and went on to produce more than ten movies in Hong Kong and three in the US. He has been involved in investment and management in many media-entertainment business in China, including newspapers, magazines,television, internet media, music and book publishing. He is an active board member of Greenpeace and lives in Beijing.
