Lu Xun at 130: Paper Republic quoted in China Daily Feature

He would have been 130 on Sunday (Sept 25), but in popular imagination it is the image of a 50-ish Lu Xun - scruffy-haired, mustachioed, square-jawed and imbued with a steely gaze - that has endured.
...and thank God for that, since I expect the image of a 130-ish Lu Xun would be a damn sight worse.

Ho-hum.
Can't China Daily let Lu Xün rest in peace and give a bit more coverage to living writers in the here-and-now?

As a matter of fact we often feature living Chinese writers, as anybody familiar with the Friday Reading Page in China Daily would know. If there’s an exciting new Chinese voice on your radar who hasn’t been written about, do give us a shout and we will chase the rising/relatively-unknown star. Any names, anyone? Bruce?
