Jane spent her formative years in Shenyang and moved to Guangzhou at the age of ten. She is a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese. At University Jane studied Japanese and tried her hand at translating Haruki Murakami stories into Chinese. After working for Japanese organizations, Jane started to study English by herself in 1995. She is now a NAATI accredited translator and interpreter based in Melbourne, Australia. Jane has an MA in translation studies from Monash University and taught translation and interpreting at RMIT University. She is now a PhD candidate at the Australian National University researching nonsense literature.
