Anna has studied Chinese at Oxford University, Beijing University, National Taiwan Normal University and School of Oriental and African Studies in London. She has been working as a freelance literary translator since 2010, working on full-length novels, short stories and poetry.

She has just finished Ai Mi's Under the Hawthorn Tree for Virago, and is currently translating Black Flame by Mongolian writer Heihe 格日勒其木格·黑鹤 for Groundwood Books in Toronto.
