Yu Qiang 于强
From Amazon.com: "Qiang Yu, born in 1945 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, graduated from Peking University’s Faculty of International Politics. He is a writer, professor, and member of the Chinese Writers Association, with extensive experience in foreign affairs, tourism, and international cultural exchanges. He served as the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and the Municipal Tourism Bureau in Ma-An-Shan City, Anhui Province, before relocating to Shanghai in 1995 to work at the Shanghai Modern Management Research Center.
A prolific author, Yu has written several historical novels, including “Wind-Pollinated Flower,” “Love in Calligraphy” (published as “Li Haitian's Calligraphy” in Japan), “Unfinished Love in a Foreign Country,” “Bright Cherry Blossoms,” “Love in the Tsunami,” “Love in Shanghai Noah's Ark,” “Love on the Ocean Silk Road,” and “The Porcelain Maker’s Daughter” The first five novels were translated into Japanese and published in both China and Japan. He has also published essay anthologies such as “The Great Li Tai-Bai” and “The Sea is Vast and the Love is Deep.”
“Love in the Tsunami,” inspired by the earthquake in eastern Japan on March 11, 2011, was selected by the Shanghai Writers Association as a key creative project in 2012. “Love in Shanghai Noah's Ark,” based on the lives of Jewish refugees in Shanghai during WWII, received sponsorship from a major literary project in 2014. Additionally, “Li Haitian's Calligraphy” was included in a collection by the Japan Library Association.
