Applications are now open for Translation Retreat 2026, the newly reimagined third season of the Frontline Non-Fiction Translation Fellowship.

This four-day residential retreat at Duke University brings together translators, scholars, editors, and publishers working on the translation of Chinese-language nonfiction into English. Participants will join workshops, mentorship sessions, project discussions, and a public symposium on world literature, featuring keynotes by Orhan Pamuk, Viet Thanh Nguyen, David Damrosch, Homi Bhabha, and other luminaries. Three Translation Fellowships (USD 1,000 each) will be awarded.
