Ting is one of the “One Hundred Young Talents” of the Publicity Department of Xi’an Municipal Party Committee, a columnist of Xi’an Evening Newspaper, and once a trainee of Shaanxi One Hundred Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Writers Advanced Research Class. She started to publish essays at middle school and her essays have been published by Chinese Writers and other famous Chinese journals and collected in several essay award anthologies. Also, she is the author of two essay collections: Between Ten Chinese Acres and Quietly Living in Chang’an. She has won a few major awards in China including Bing Xin Essay Award. Her essay “Shakuhachi”, co-translated by Chen Du and Xisheng Chen, was published by The Southern Review in 2023.
