BIBF Website Update

The Beijing International Book Fair's new website went online today, replacing its previous site, which was of limited use to non-Chinese readers, with a more international-friendly version.

Besides standard information about Fair schedules and signups (the BIBF begins August 30 this year), the site provides information on the Special Publisher Programme, a cost-effective way for smaller publishers to attend BIBF, and the Translation Subsidy Area, where various countries can display information about translation and publication subsidy programs.

Conspicuously missing: the ability for Fair attendees to log in and manage their application online—this functionality will be added "soon".

We're also looking for a complete list of this year's events, and at least a partial list of last years' participants, but even so the new site is a marked improvement.
